How To Get Rid Of Moles

There are many ways to get rid of moles. This article is going to take a look at some different methods so that you can decide which is the best way to get rid of moles and why. When you look at the methods you need to realize what the impact of each will be on your home and your family.

There are three primary methods by which you can get rid of moles. The first is to use poison and bait traps to kill them. The second is to use smoke bombs to choke the moles or force them out. The third method is to use a trap to catch them.

1. Method One To Get Rid Of Moles: Poison

Using bait and poison to kill pests is a pretty common practice. I however would not recommend using it to kill moles. There are several reasons for this. The first is that while poison can get rid of moles, it has other detrimental effects as well. The first and most obvious is that the poison can effect and hurt animals and people that were not meant to be targeted by it.

If animals find and eat the poisoned moles they can get sick themselves. In addition if a child or family pet gets into the poison accidentally it can have some pretty drastic problems. In addition when the mole does die you have no idea where it will be when that happens so it can be very difficult to track the effectiveness of the poison. These reasons make poison a bad choice for to get rid of moles.

2. Method Two: Using Smoke Bombs To Kill Moles

While very dramatic it is highly debatable how effective using smoke bombs to control your mole problem is. Similar to poison, it is very hard to judge how effective using smoke bombs are in controlling the moles. Unless you go in and dig up the tunnels to look for the results of your smoke bomb you will not know whether it worked.

In addition if the tunnel system is extensive it will be almost impossible for the smoke bomb to get all the yard moles. If you do not get all the moles it is going to be harder to use smoke bombs to get them out because the smoking method works best in large groups of moles. While it has some uses smoking out moles is not really recommend to get rid of moles if you are looking to eliminate the problem.

3. Method Three: Trapping Moles

Trapping is by far the most effective method for getting rid of moles. Traps work fast and do not use any chemicals. The stop the problem quickly and results can be quickly and easily measure. In addition there is minimal chance of harm to other animals or people. In addition to that the mole traps are a renewable resource that you can use over and over again if the moles come back or migrate in from a neighbor’s yard.

Out of all the methods highlighted, trapping is the only one that you can use over and over again with no additional investment, does not damage the environment in any way, and also produces results that you can measure.
